BHLDN
BHLDN have finally launched the decor portion of their collection and it can only be described as beautiful. Whilst not planning a wedding any time soon {you can exhale if you're reading this babe!} I can't help but linger over the designs. Especially because I can imagine most of them being used time and time again for any number of parties and celebrations. Hell, I'd even buy them for that reason in the first place: they'd add beautiful finishing touches to your dinner party and the flowers, bunting and fans would make fabulous additions to any outdoor celebrations. Here's a few rather a lot of my favourites from the site...

Do what you love
Yikes. Sorry for the complete radio silence. My final exam EVER takes place in under a week so I'm pretty much up to my eyeballs in work and trying to stay focused {pretty difficult when it's so beautiful outside!}. I have so many ideas to start posting with again and I'm so excited to have more free time on my hands with which to do it. I'm making a virtual pinky promise to step up my game after May 10th.
I've been thinking a bit about what I'll do post-graduation: things I'd like to explore, places I'd like to see, the career I'd like to pursue. And whilst I'm struggling to narrow these lists down {not necessarily a bad thing!} what I am reminding myself time and time again is to make sure whatever it is I'm do, I do it because I love it. With that in mind, this image seems incredibly apt and is currently serving as my desktop image. A nice little reminder that all the work that needs to go into this exam will be worth it.
It's available to download here at howjoyful in a variety of beautiful colourways. Like she says, it's what we should be reminded of everyday.
So with that in mind, do you something you love, do it often & I'll be back soon!

Up and Over It
Even if you have a million other things to do with your Sunday {really...it's a Sunday...don't} take 2 minutes and 20 seconds out of your day to watch these incredibly talented dancers. Definitely makes you rethink Irish dancing and its diddly-idleness {as they put it}. I'm always blown away, and a smidge jealous, when I see people with talent like this. I watch good dancers, and I wish I could dance. I listen to incredible musicians and I wish I could sing. I watch teenage appropriate feel good movies about high school basketball teams that win the championship in the last seconds of the game and I wish I could play basketball.... But I'm digressing. Ahem. Watch the film. Then visit the website.

Living for the weekend
Oooo, it's been a while since I wrote anything. Oh dear. I slacked off work a smidge {well, quite a bit really} last week to celebrate my birthday and it's safe to say it was so totally worth it. I had the loveliest time and can safely say I was a very lucky girl. It was LUSH haha. It does mean I've spent this week in the library prepping for my looming final exams - not long now!!
Right now though, it's the start of the first of two long weekends. We're having friends round to drag out the birthday celebrations a teeny bit longer on Friday night and I can't wait. If this weekend is as lovely as last week, I'll be beyond thrilled. Here's what I'll be mixing into this weekend...
Coral Nails...
Red Lips...
Hanging out with this dashing chap...
And wishing some people were a little bit closer so we could have a repeat of this...

Goosebumps
I still can't listen to this song without getting goosebumps. Happens everytime without fail. Her voice just makes me melt and the lyrics to the song itself are so moving. Absolutely beautiful.

A little bit of bling for your Thursday
via {net-a-porter}
If money were no object, I would most definitely be spending the weekend letting my feet get acquainted with these beauties. Swoon. As it stands however {and because even if I did have that many monies, I'm wouldn't be sure the library would be the place to debut shoes this beautiful}, I should probably find an alternative way to add a bit of sparkle to my weekend.
Whether it's on my ears...

Or on my fingers....

After all, a little bit of bling can go a very long way...

Hidying vs Tidying
This week has been somewhat out of the ordinary. Both the boy and I ended up having operations and as such we've battened down the hatches and felt a little bit sorry for ourselves this week. Hence the radio silence. But now I'm currently sat staring out the window surrounded by a pile of sunday supplements and food magazines, cuddling a rather large mug of tea. Bliss. Plus, I feel inspired to write something!
My lovely lovely sister offered to come up for an evening this week and be nice to me {the operation probably wasn't a big enough deal to merit this but it was a much appreciated gesture none the less} and having slept off the anaesthetic and dragged myself out of my bed, I was met with a sparkly clean kitchen. And it was lush. Sounds daft doesn't it, but I'm pretty sure she subscribes to the same logic I do: namely that if you are feeling less that pulled together/well/hungover/agitated {the list goes on} restoring order to something, however superficial, goes a long way towards making you feel a bit better. The boy can't quite understand why boiling dishclothes makes me feel better when I have wine-flu {tends to make an appearance on a Saturday morning...} but it does. Fact. I'm sure I read once that even pretending to restore order has the same effect; like when you put all the dishes in the sink but don't actually wash them up straight away, it's ok because it's still tidier than just leaving them on the side. Right? That's my logic, anyway and I'm sticking with it.
With that in mind it {and my rather rambling pre-amble out of the way} it shouldn't surprise you that my approach to cleaning/storage very much takes that approach. Whilst it's second nature to keep everything clean, I must admit I struggle with clutter and keeping things tidy. In the name of trying to maintain some semblence of order, I often find myself just trying to clear the clutter from eyesight: so much so that my boyfriend often refers to my approach as 'hidying' rather than tidying. I probably ought to be stricter with myself or get rid of some stuff but it's hard when blogs pretty much tell me my approach is ok by giving me ample examples of storage that are perfect for hidying...

Anyway. Enough cleaning chat. More chat on cakes and clothes. That'll be next weeks focus I think...
